Job Summary
Own the reliability, scalability, and capability of backend systems powering PetMeds operations, including OMS, middleware, PIM, Salesforce Service Cloud, vet portal, and Iterable. Drive the product roadmap for AutoShip, subscription experiences, loyalty rewards, and transactional email infrastructure, balancing system stability with new capability delivery. Lead squad execution across platform and retention systems, managing sprint cycles, backlog refinement, and demos while resolving integration risks and dependencies. Partner independently with Engineering, Analytics, Marketing, and Operations to translate business needs into clear technical roadmaps, ensuring engineers have well-defined tickets and acceptance criteria. Mentor junior product members and communicate platform constraints to non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- 5+ years of product management experience
- 2 years owning backend, platform, or infrastructure products
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in ecommerce operations
- Familiarity with OMS, PIM, middleware, or CRM systems
- Track record of managing complex, interconnected systems in a production environment
- Experience with subscription, loyalty, or retention products
- Strong technical fluency with the ability to engage meaningfully with engineering on architecture, integration design, and system trade-offs
- Ability to balance operational reliability with strategic capability delivery
- Understanding of retention mechanics, subscription models, and loyalty program dynamics
- Clear and effective communicator who can translate technical complexity into business terms for non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working across multiple systems and teams simultaneously, managing dependencies and sequencing work effectively
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and modern software development practices
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits and a systematic approach to problem-solving
