Job Summary
Drive end-to-end growth and optimization for Grant across acquisition, underwriting, funding, repayment, and re-engagement by independently pulling cohort data in SQL, modeling underwriting logic, and running rigorous A/B tests to validate hypotheses. Partner with data science and engineering to define product boundaries for ML models and payment flows, while segmenting users to decompose funnels and quantify growth levers from first principles. Balance competing levers between conversion, repayment, and unit economics to shape roadmaps for engineering, design, and marketing, ensuring alignment on the highest-leverage bets. Champion Grant's consumer-first values across the team and with users to solve deeply personal financial problems.
Required Qualifications
- Full-time position based in San Francisco HQ
- A genuinely strong data and numbers sense
- Fluency in SQL (or comparable)
- Comfort in the analytics stack
- Ability to pull and manipulate data without help
- Experience previously worked as a data scientist
- A track record of finding growth others missed
- Real experimentation rigor
- Ability to design and interpret A/B tests
- Reasoning about statistical significance and sample size
- Resisting the temptation to over-read noisy results
- Pulling the data yourself is a requirement
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Readiness to roll up your sleeves across the whole product
- Empathy for consumers
- Passion for solving consumer financial problems
- Comfort in the driver's seat
- Natural way of knowing how to get to the destination
- Knowledge of when it's time for others to drive
- Worked on successful digital consumer products for at least 4 years
- Experience ideally including a lending, fintech, or other economically complex product
- Experience preferably in a fast-paced startup environment
- An interest in and perspective on modern consumer financial tools
- A view on how best to innovate in this space
