Job Summary
Lead large-scale product strategy and roadmap development for F5's network security portfolio, defining features, business benefits, and prioritizing deliverables from concept to end-of-life. Conduct primary research, synthesize cross-viewpoint insights, and drive comparative analysis against competitors to inform investment priorities and industry trends. Manage the complete product lifecycle while collaborating with executives, business partners, and channel teams to foster adoption and resolve strategic concerns. Present strategic direction, market analysis, and product plans to technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level leadership. Own financial product plans, manage budgets, and drive P&L discussions with Finance and BizOps. Duties may require working evenings and weekends, with 10-25% travel.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in technical related field
- 15+ years relevant industry experience (enterprise and/or service provider networking, security, traffic management, cloud services/products)
- 5+ years of experience in product management or equivalent
- Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 10-25% of the time spent traveling
- Hybrid: Employees within 30 commutable miles of an F5 office are required to work from the office a minimum of 30 business days per quarter
- Remote: Primarily work from designated home location but can come into an F5 office to work or travel to an offsite location as needed
Desired Qualifications
- MBA a plus
- 5+ years analyzing products, customers and market dynamics a plus
- Experience embedding AI capabilities into security products
- Strong knowledge of using AI tools to perform routing work functions
- Ability to build & present end-to-end product demos
- Recognized leader in function with a demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals
- Is sought by others across organization for product management guidance and insight
- Experience coaching and motivating large teams, and encouraging the adoption of a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive culture
- A talent for visual, verbal, and written storytelling and communicating with clarity and precision, simplifying and presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate
- Deep understanding of and ability to speak knowledgeably regarding financials, return on investment (ROI), etc. with key stakeholders, customers, and senior leadership
- Ability to present to C-level executives both internally and externally
- Analytical and empathetic mindset; understands the 'why' of user behavior
- A knack for identifying patterns, trends, points of note, drawing meaningful conclusions, translating them into desired user outcomes and effectively building cross-organizational support for change
