Senior Product Manager (Data API)

Job Summary
Define the product vision and strategy for 9fin's external data distribution via APIs, data shares, and cloud delivery mechanisms. Own the data catalogue decisions on which datasets to expose, their formats, and the order of market launch while balancing client demand and commercial potential. Design the developer experience end-to-end, including API design, documentation, sandbox environments, and versioning. Partner with analytics engineering to define schemas and transformation logic that make proprietary credit data consumable for quant desks and systematic investors. Validate early with 1-2 pilot clients to co-develop products before broader launch, shaping usage-based pricing and entitlement structures. Coordinate cross-functionally across platform and domain teams to ship a cohesive product without a dedicated squad, translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience
- at least 2 years building API products, data platforms, or data distribution products at a B2B company
- Experience designing APIs for external consumers
- Track record of shipping data products where you managed the full lifecycle
- Understanding of data infrastructure concepts: data pipelines, warehouses, ETL/ELT, data modelling, and platforms like Snowflake
- Comfortable with SQL and Python
- Experience working in a solution-selling or partner-led GTM model
- Proven ability to lead cross-functionally without a dedicated team
- Strong commercial instinct
- Clear communicator who can translate between technical and commercial audiences
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with credit markets, debt instruments, or how buy-side/sell-side firms consume financial data
- Experience with Snowflake data sharing, marketplace listings, or similar cloud data distribution mechanisms
- Experience building entitlements, licensing, or access control systems for data products
- Understanding of data licensing, redistribution terms, or AI usage policies in the context of enterprise data products
