Senior Product Manager - Access Control

Job Summary
Senior Product Manager to lead Starburst’s access control offerings. You will define the product vision and roadmap to empower customers to manage data access through native and partner solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, prioritize features based on data-driven customer insights, and ensure security and compliance requirements are met. Responsibilities include building and delivering on a roadmap balancing customer and internal needs, coordinating with global teams in an Agile environment, deeply understanding Starburst personas, owning cross-functional feature interactions, and collecting usage data/dashboards for decision making and OKR tracking. Key skills and signals include experience with Lakehouse ecosystems, databases, data warehousing, data lakes, query engines (Trino/Spark) or data virtualization, open-source community experience, and the ability to travel ~25% for onboarding, events, and customer engagements. Remote, US base with salary range $180k–$210k, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a Product Manager or Technical Product Manager
- Experience managing Lakehouse product offerings and their ecosystems (e.g. catalogs, permissions, metadata)
- Proven ability to operate in a highly technical product area where trade-off choices consider engine performance and span multiple product areas
- Deep understanding of the technical landscape and markets preferred (well versed in databases, data warehousing, data lakes, and familiarity with many of the data infrastructure products in industry)
- Entrepreneurial and self motivated personality with a track record for delivering results in fast-moving environments
- Experience with query engines (e.g., Trino/Spark) or data virtualization, and how connectors impact performance, governance, and reliability is a plus
- Track record working with or around open-source communities is a plus
- Ability to Travel: This role will require 25% in-person travel for purposes including but not limited to new hire onboarding, team and department offsites, customer engagements, and other company events
