Senior Product Engineer, Mechanical

Lead an engineering team in the product development process of transfer case mechanical hardware for customer 4WD applications. Responsible for developing initial proposals based on customer requirements, designing and developing the product through prototype phases, validating the product at production launch, and providing post-launch support. Activities include analyzing customer requirements to ensure performance, packaging, and serviceability; developing mechanical hardware proposals and supporting opportunity estimations; performing system-level mechanical design; directing CAE/NVH analyses; leading DFMEA creation/maintenance; defining ADVP&R milestones; issuing lab work orders for builds, tests, and inspections; running design kickoff and issue resolution meetings; creating engineering specifications and prototype build/control plans; approving prototype materials for testing; providing ECU/software/calibration engineering support for integration; supporting validation fixtures and testing; aiding sales with engineering data and cost-reduction opportunities; supporting DFM/DFA in production and providing technical inputs to global supply chain; contributing to and leading engineering change management as needed. This role requires strong communication, patience, and engineering leadership in AWD/transfer-case related design with a focus on quality, manufacturability, and life-cycle support.
