Senior Product Engineer

Job Summary
Design new product concepts and systems, verifying feasibility through advanced analytical tools and statistical analysis. Develop test methods and specifications based on customer requirements, while creating and revising 3D models, drawings, and design studies. Manage prototype builds and testing validation, ensuring all solutions meet performance metrics and quality standards. Provide technical leadership to internal teams and external customers, leading VA/VE cost reduction and ease of manufacturing activities. Identify root causes for test failures and implement permanent corrective actions for warranty returns.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology or equivalent field
- Thorough knowledge of applicable Hi-Lex products and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of engineering practices (GD&T, DOE, FMEA, DFM, CAD applications, statistical analysis, etc.)
- 10 or more years of experience in Automotive Engineering and Design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving and critical thinking
- Project Management
- Adaptability and continuous improvement
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Periodic factory visits with noise from manufacturing equipment
- Periodic travel by air, car or train to other company operations, customers and/or suppliers
