Job Summary
Senior Product Development Engineer responsible for developing PLC-based control system solutions for turbo/rotating machinery, participating in all phases of the product development lifecycle from algorithm design to FAT and commissioning. Utilize IEC-61131 languages (Structured Text, Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram) to program PLC/HMI applications, configure and test control systems, and evaluate performance with engineering simulations (e.g., SimSci). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop tailored control solutions, maintain technical documentation, and ensure compliance. Requires 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, proficiency with PLC/PAC programming on platforms such as Allen Bradley, Triconex, Schneider Electric, Siemens, or Emerson, and willingness to travel up to 15%. Work location available in Houston, TX or New Orleans, LA; primarily office-based with on-site testing/commissioning opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Control Systems Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in control system design, PLC/HMI programming, and commissioning in industrial automation
- Proven experience with PLC/PAC programming across IEC-61131 languages (Ladder Logic, FBD, Structured Text) on platforms such as Allen Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000, Triconex Tri-Station, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, Siemens Step 7, or Emerson PAC/GE Fanuc Proficy
- Experience with distributed control systems (DCS) configuration and programming is a plus
