Senior Product Development Engineer

Job Summary
Design and develop dental implant products according to the company's Design Control and Idea to Market processes. Plan, perform, and coordinate design verification and validation activities while ensuring all specifications and documentation are complete for early milestone achievement. Manage external partners, suppliers, and key opinion leaders on assigned development activities, identify patentable designs, and file patents with the IP department. Lead a cross-functional team to deliver technical projects, escalate challenges to the line and project manager, and support process improvements across departments. Requires five plus years of product development experience in the medical device industry, preferably dental.
Required Qualifications
- Strong technical background (BSc, MSc or equivalent) in relevant field (e.g. biomedical or mechanical engineering)
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Five plus (5+) years of successful working experience in product development and/or technical project lead in medical device industry, preferably in the dental industry
- Experience in leading technical projects and teams in matrix organizations
- Strong analytical skills and result orientation with interest in innovation and new technology
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity, commitment and ethics
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks independently to meet the objectives
- Good understanding of user needs, clinical and laboratory workflows to be able to translate customer needs into technical requirements
- Excellent knowledge of relevant tools (3D CAD, CAM, SAP, MS Office) and processes (Design Control and Idea to Market)
- Good knowledge of various manufacturing methods especially CNC
- Excellent writing skills for technical documentation (e.g. plans, reports, rationales)
- Ability to lead and coordinate a cross-functional technical project team and getting consensus for timely deliverables completion
Desired Qualifications
- Further education in Medical Technology or Business Administration is a plus
- German is an asset
