Job Summary
Lead development engineer for High Speed I/O products, responsible for concept generation, design, verification, and qualification of 112Gb signaling and beyond. Conceptualize, design, and develop cable assemblies and IO connector systems from initial proposal through tooling and product qualification. Perform Design FMEA, tolerance analysis, and FEA simulations while collaborating with global cross-functional teams, internal suppliers, and manufacturing personnel to optimize designs for production. Work with marketing and customers to define requirements, lead design reviews, and manage first article inspections. Transition products to manufacturing with NPI and ensure proper usage of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline, or equivalent engineering course work and related experience
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with high speed cable assembly and/or connector design preferred
- Knowledge and experience with design for signal integrity performance is preferred
- Industry Standards knowledge and experience is a plus
- Experience and skilled use of Solid Works, FEA simulation software (ANSYS preferred), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles, and Statistical Engineering methods
- Ability to work effectively within a project team and to direct the activity of others as is needed
- Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of the organization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, Test Lab personnel, other Engineers (local and global), and Designers (local and global)
- Ability to prioritize work to meet objectives and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
