Job Summary
Lead end-to-end new product development initiatives from concept and modeling through prototyping, testing, and final production. Partner with manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional engineering teams to create comprehensive technical specifications, including material selection, tolerances, and manufacturing processes. Utilize CAD tools to develop 3D product models, technical drawings, and prototypes while performing product testing and performance analysis to ensure compliance with safety and customer specifications. Drive design improvements focused on manufacturability, cost optimization, and environmental sustainability, and contribute to APQP and continuous improvement efforts. Review technical designs and mentor junior engineers while staying up to date on emerging technologies and industry best practices. Work independently and in a team environment on multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
- 4+ years' engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient computer skills: CAD, MSOffice (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with APQP tools: DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, etc.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organization skills and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Relocation not available
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available
- 100% in-office
- Position is full-time, direct hire, 1st shift
Desired Qualifications
- Utilize CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Rhino) to develop 3D product models, technical drawings, and prototypes
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies, materials, and industry best practices in product and manufacturing engineering
- Work well both in a team environment
- Work on several projects at a given time—anywhere from 1-5, depending on complexity
