Job Summary
Senior Product Counsel to advise Verkada’s product, engineering, supply chain, and marketing teams on regulatory, licensing, export controls, and procurement issues across hardware and software offerings; design and implement global compliance programs; serve as a subject-matter expert on product-related regulatory issues including NDAA/TAA/BAA, ITAR/OFAC, and emerging AI-related export controls; role requires on-site presence at the Austin, TX office five days a week.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school or equivalent
- member of at least one state bar association in good standing
- 6+ years of legal experience including regulatory, IP, product counseling, marketing, and general transactional work
- experience advising multinational, complex fast-growing global companies with respect to hardware and software product offerings
- experience developing and implementing compliance programs and policies for hardware and software products (including alarms products)
- expertise in one or more: Federal procurement for hardware/software (e.g. FedRAMP, FIPs, NDAA); licensing/regulatory compliance for alarm products (including fire alarms); domestic and EU regulatory compliance for connected devices
- excellent legal and business judgment
- ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
