Job Summary
Lead the production of live and recorded television, radio, streaming, and multimedia programming by acting as Line Producer in the control room. Plan, develop, and oversee content for news, public affairs, feature, special event, and promotional programming while directing daily production activities including story development, program rundowns, segment planning, and content coordination. Assign work, coach team members, and report on their performance. Write and produce news and feature content for broadcasts, web, and social media; conduct and write up interviews; and adapt or translate content between English and the native language. Edit and approve copy prepared by others, fine edit taped material, and contribute to the creation of regularly scheduled or special radio and TV programs. Meet VOA standards for productivity, quality, and deadlines, while making suggestions about policy and workflow improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in target language (written, spoken)
- Deep knowledge of the target area
- Ability to adapt stories into English as assigned
- Knowledge of Cuba's history
- Familiarity with U.S./Cuba relations
- Formal education in a field desired by VOA
- Regularly demonstrating added ability through the performance of duties
