Job Summary
Define the editorial vision for a new POLITICO show exploring technology's impact on politics and policy. Research, develop, and shape episodes while identifying and booking guests from government, industry, and academia. Write scripts, oversee recordings, and coach hosts to maintain high editorial standards. Edit podcast episodes and companion video versions, partnering with marketing and social teams to maximize reach. Monitor audience performance to refine the show's strategy and build a distinctive franchise. This role blends big-picture thinking with hands-on production across audio, video, and social platforms.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience producing podcasts, video journalism or similar editorial programming
- Exceptional editorial judgment
- Strong instincts for identifying original stories and conversations
- Excellent writing skills, including scripting, interview preparation and narrative structure
- Strong booking experience and the ability to cultivate relationships with influential guests
- Excellent audio editing skills
- Experience owning productions end-to-end
- Balancing editorial leadership with hands-on execution
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple moving pieces on a weekly production schedule
- Familiarity with audience analytics and platform metrics
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset
- Enthusiasm for building something new
