Senior Procurement Specialist

Job Summary
Manage competitive bids, proactively identify sourcing opportunities, and assist with developing and maintaining the three-year sourcing plan. Contribute to the Kalamazoo site and global Procurement cost savings target while managing overall vendor relationships for assigned commodities to ensure competitive costs and business continuity. Lead multiple projects including sourcing initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and analyzing conversion opportunities, gaining end user and senior management buy-in on decisions. Facilitate on-site visits and contacts with colleagues and other stakeholders across Procurement, Supply Chain, Packaging Engineering, Quality, Operations, Accounts Payable, Finance, and various suppliers. 90% stationary and 10% standing and walking; travel required. Full-time regular colleague role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Chemistry or related business/technical field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Procurement
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written coupled with strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills
- Motivated self-starter
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving objectives in a manner that is supportive of the Zoetis Core Beliefs
- Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of the Zoetis organization
- An understanding of GMP and the Quality standards required in a pharmaceuticals business
- Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude
- Relevant supplier or procurement experience
- Strong organizational skills and results oriented
- Ability to get things done by working with/through others
- Strong interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of SAP
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated results in the resolution of moderate/complex challenges
- Knowledge of and experience in leading/overseeing defined procurement processes utilizing established policies and practices for guidance
- Demonstrated record of innovation, focus on performance, change management, continuous improvement, and development/implementation of best practices
- Track record of understanding and meeting customer and market needs
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and ability to learn Zoetis systems
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Animal Health industry
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles and tools
- SAP and/or Ariba Procurement system experience
- Must possess or obtain authorization to work in the US for Zoetis
