Job Summary
Prepare and issue purchase orders to vendors based on approved requisitions, verifying accuracy including pricing, quantities, specifications, ship-to addresses, and GL coding. Obtain required approvals before PO release, communicate order confirmations to stakeholders, and process PO changes, revisions, cancellations, and expedite requests. Manage expedited procurements requiring creative problem-solving, assess sourcing for improved delivery, and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time. Create and analyze open PO accrual reports for monthly financial close, partner with accounting on period-end activities and audit support, and lead physical inventory reconciliation. Conduct vendor performance reviews, manage escalations, build strategic supplier relationships, and resolve complex disputes. Maintain item master data quality, vendor price lists, and SOAR process documentation while leading data cleanup projects. Represent procurement in cross-functional project teams. This role combines tactical execution with analytical problem-solving, vendor negotiation, and mentorship of junior staff within a strategic procurement function.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of work experience in a Purchasing function working with purchase orders, receiving, vendors, and customers
- High school diploma or equivalent
- General accounting and finance knowledge

- Experience using Microsoft Excel and a computerized purchasing system
- Ability to work in and manage a multi-task environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
