Job Summary
Develop and execute long-term procurement strategies for the People & Workplace category, conducting market analysis to predict supply shifts and optimize total cost of ownership. Manage a team of two procurement professionals through coaching and development while strategically partnering with business stakeholders to align strategies and facilitate cross-departmental alignment. Lead supplier selection, contract renegotiation, and consolidation efforts to drive cost reductions, while developing risk mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions and sustainable sourcing initiatives. Advocate for innovative procurement technologies and process automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks. Ensure all activities comply with internal policies and industry regulations while mentoring team members to foster continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in leading and developing commercial strategies relating to the categories in your scope
- Proven track record of delivering and exceeding commercial targets such as savings, supplier consolidation, cash management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence and work collaboratively across different teams
- Ability to advise, manage and report risks effectively, providing practical solutions to mitigate them
- Experience with sourcing tools, market analysis and end-to-end procurement processes
- Demonstrable ability to evaluate and summarise complex sourcing scenarios, communicating them in a clear and pragmatic way to different stakeholders and influencing with impact
- Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- A get-it-done, collaborative approach to problem-solving
- Experience leading a team of 2x Procurement professionals
- Ability to conduct market analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and predict shifts in supply and demand
- Ability to utilize analytical and financial skills to assess total cost of ownership and budget impact of procurement decisions
- Ability to evaluate and support selection of suppliers, utilizing robust criteria for quality, price, and reliability
- Ability to identify opportunities for consolidating suppliers, renegotiating contracts, or initiating new proposals
- Ability to assist in the creation of risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain disruptions
- Ability to stay informed about political and economic environments impacting supply chains and support the development of contingency plans
- Ability to advocate for and implement innovative procurement technologies and process automation
- Ability to mentor and develop procurement team members
- Ability to ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations
- Ability to stay abreast of industry best practices and leverage them to improve Wise's procurement processes and strategy
- Ability to encourage creative problem-solving and new procurement solutions to maximize organizational effectiveness
