Job Summary
Verify material and service requirements by location, create purchase requests using optimal pricing and suppliers, and source available products balancing quality, price, and delivery. Follow up on purchase orders by verifying products, expected delivery times, and pricing; obtain supplier recommendations for substitutes, and cross-check with requesting departments. Schedule optimal deliveries, monitor and expedite orders when necessary, and verify receipt of items by comparing received goods against purchase orders. Resolve shipment discrepancies and issues with suppliers or carriers, verify invoices and payments with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and create purchase orders based on supplier invoices. Maintain detailed and accurate information in SharePoint for management review and collect, analyze, and summarize data and trends. Adhere to SGS Code of Integrity, procedures, and standards while supporting purchasing objectives and operational improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- A university degree or equivalent
- B2+ level of English
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
