Senior Process Safety Engineer

Job Summary
Support continuously improvement of the Process Safety Management System (PSM) at site level while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Lead and support incident investigations to define corrective and preventive actions, and drive strategic improvements for major accident scenarios and chemical risks. Conduct technical risk assessments including HAZOP, PHA, and LOPA for new process introductions and equipment upgrades. Manage hazardous area classifications and ATEX standards, and support cross-functional projects to embed safety culture through training design and team mentoring. This role offers broad cross-functional exposure in a global CDMO environment focused on specialized technologies like Spray Drying and Continuous Tableting. Fluency in English and Portuguese is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Chemistry; Mechanical or related scientific field
- Health & Safety professional certification Level VI
- 5–8+ years in manufacturing or industrial environment
- Fluency in English and Portuguese
- Strong experience in Process Safety and Major Hazard management
- Supporting HAZOP / LOPA studies
- Advanced knowledge of Process Safety methodologies
- Advanced knowledge of Regulatory frameworks (e.g., COMAH)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office, SAP and data analysis tools
Desired Qualifications
- Master's in Process Safety or equivalent
