Job Summary
Senior Process Safety Engineer to lead process safety initiatives at Cenovus Energy's Toledo Refinery. Responsible for regulatory compliance with US process safety requirements (OSHA PSM 29 CFR 1910.119) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP). Lead and support refinery process safety programs across PHA/HAZOP, LOPA, MAH, and Management of Change (MOC). Drive continuous improvement of safety systems, workflows, and assurance mechanisms; serve as a change agent across the organization and influence stakeholders at all levels. Lead or support incident investigations and root cause analyses, coordinate audits (internal/third party/insurance), identify gaps and ensure timely closure of corrective actions, and partner with site leadership to set and analyze safety performance goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Chemistry, Science, or Safety/Environmental discipline
- 8+ years experience in process engineering, technical safety, or process safety engineering in oil and gas or chemicals
- Subject matter expert of US regulations (OSHA and 29 CFR 1910.119) and EPA RMP
- Experience facilitating MOC, HAZOP/PHA, and LOPA
- Proficient in Root Cause Analysis and incident investigation leadership
