Job Summary
Optimize, create, and monitor internal processes affecting workflow, scrap, and part costs through injection molding process development, maintenance, and tooling design. Operate injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and automation systems while executing LEAN manufacturing principles and DOE studies to identify processing factors impacting cosmetic and structural stability. Develop controlled documents, interpret engineering prints, and advise on new equipment purchases and tooling construction. Interface with customers and suppliers, coordinate tooling trials, and facilitate training for new equipment. Maintain accurate documentation, inventory disposition, and a clean 5S workspace while adhering to safety protocols and attendance metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Scientific Injection Molding, Master Molder, or injection molding educational certificate
- 5+ years of experience as a Process Technician (molder)
- 5+ years of experience processing Engineered Resins
- Able to read, speak, and write English
- Able to keep accurate quantity records
- Able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Know material properties and how to apply them
- Operation of function of individual mold components and as a system
- Mechanical skills
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency in the company ERP system (IQMS) as it pertains to the Process Engineer
- Able to perform the responsibilities of the Setup Technician, in the event of a staffing shortage
- Able to perform the responsibilities of the Process Technician, in the event of a staffing shortage
- Operate a forklift
- Use a variety of hand tools in an appropriate and safe manner
- Maintain a clean working space
- Perform tasks with minimal supervision and in a safe manner, including the use of PPE when necessary
- Dependable with reliable attendance
- Scientific Injection Molding, Master Molder, or injection molding educational certificate, required
- 5+ years of experience as a Process Technician (molder), required
- 5+ years of experience processing Engineered Resins, required
Desired Qualifications
