Job Summary
The Senior Process Engineer leads process improvement activities, evaluates and troubleshoots technical challenges in confectionary manufacturing. Key responsibilities include overseeing GEMBA to enhance yield, cycle times, and quality, mentoring engineers on regulatory requirements, and providing process engineering support across departments. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, at least 5 years of confectionary panning experience, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred qualifications include a degree in chemical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering and experience in a cGMP environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- 5+ years of confectionary panning experience or similar
- Eight (8) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment relatable to confectionary equipment and/or packaging
- Statistical analytical experience including statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), modeling
- Hands on experience with pumps, mixers, reactors (cookers), fillers, baggers, and/or process instrumentation
- Extensive knowledge of Materials Management, Logistics, and Supply Chain techniques
- Thorough understanding of Title 21 CFR Parts 111, 210, and 211
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, design, project management, problem solving, planning, written and verbal communication, cross-functional leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in chemical engineering, mechanical, or biomedical engineering
- Engineering experience within pharmaceuticals, food processing, or consumer packaged goods in a cGMP environment
