Job Summary
Senior Process Engineer at Nexus Engineering Group: own the basic process design of unit operations and deliverables that drive projects forward; develop the design basis, process descriptions, BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, and material selection diagrams; build Aspen HYSYS models and heat/mass balances; perform hydraulic calculations and equipment sizing for compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, columns, separators, reactors; design and size safety relief devices; interface with clients and provide field support through project execution; ensure quality standards and codes are met on schedule and within budget; must have a BS in Chemical Engineering (ABET) and 5+ years in oil & gas or chemical industries; exposure to PSV sizing and safety relief design; travel to client sites as required; office and active project-site work environments with PPE on site.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil & gas or chemical industries
- Hands-on experience designing process equipment (vessels, pumps, exchangers, fired heaters, compressors)
- Process simulation experience with Aspen HYSYS and hydraulic analysis tools (e.g., AFT Fathom/Arrow, Visual Flare)
- Experience with PSV sizing and safety relief device design
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to work in teams and present a positive image to clients
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and timely delivery
