Senior Process Engineer - Gas Handling

Job Summary
Senior Process Engineer to act as the gas and RNG systems subject matter expert. Responsible for optimizing and troubleshooting biogas collection, gas upgrading, CO2 removal, compression, gas quality, and pipeline injection; provide technical guidance to site teams; identify and scope improvement projects; lead equipment and sub-system support for operations and maintenance; drive site-wide performance by benchmarking, tracking vendor/industry developments, and recommending upgrades to improve methane recovery and gas injection uptime. Lead gas handling and upgrading design for development projects, issue RFPs and manage technology/vendor selection, collaborate with vendors/contractors, develop commissioning plans, and support facility start-up. Participate in commercial/regulatory discussions, evaluate alternative approaches to biogas utilization, and stay current with standards affecting RNG facility design. Requires travel up to 50% initially, then up to 25% annually, and must be based within a reasonable distance of a major airport.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field from an accredited program
- 5+ years of experience designing or operating gas upgrading / renewable natural gas production facilities
- Strong leadership, independent thinking, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication
