Job Summary
Senior Process Engineer - Gas Handling accountable for gas handling and RNG systems expertise across existing facilities, optimizing and troubleshooting biogas upgrading, CO2 removal, compression, gas quality, and pipeline injection. Provide routine and ad hoc technical guidance to site teams, identify and scope improvement projects, and lead process equipment and sub-system support. Drive site-wide performance by benchmarking, tracking vendor and industry developments, and recommending upgrades to improve reliability, methane recovery, compression performance, and gas injection uptime. Lead gas handling and upgrading design for projects, issuing RFPs and managing technology/vendor selection, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, developing commissioning plans, and supporting facility commissioning/start-up. Engage in commercial and regulatory discussions, stay current with standards, and evaluate novel approaches to biogas utilization. This remote role requires proximity to a major airport with significant travel (up to 50% initially, then up to 25% annually) for commissioning and ongoing support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field from an accredited program
- 5+ years of experience designing or operating gas upgrading / renewable natural gas production facilities
- Strong leadership, independent thinking, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication
- Interest in growing with a progressive, entrepreneurial organization
