Senior Process Engineer – Electroless Copper

Job Summary
Senior Process Engineer – Electroless Copper for glass substrates and panel-level packaging. Develop and optimize electroless copper deposition processes, define and control bath parameters (composition, pH, temperature, agitation, loading, deposition rate, replenishment), and drive process qualification, DOE execution, and recipe optimization for new tools and chemistries. Lead root-cause analysis for plating defects (voids, skip plating, blistering, peeling, oxidation, roughness, contamination) and collaborate with wet chemistry/analytical teams to ensure bath stability and contamination control. Create and maintain SOPs, process specifications, OCAPs, bath control plans, and documentation; support pilot lines and high-volume manufacturing ramp with emphasis on yield, throughput, and cost reduction. Ensure compliance with EHS and chemical safety while driving equipment qualification and maintenance improvements; partner with equipment engineering to enhance tool capability, chemical delivery, filtration, and MTBF/MTTR improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Metallurgy, or related field
- 8 – 12 years of experience in electroless copper plating, metallization processes, semiconductor wet processing, or advanced packaging technologies
- Willing to relocate to Albuquerque, New Mexico for 1-2 years and willing to relocate to India for 2 years or permanently. Or if currently in India, will require relocation to Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
