Job Summary
Senior Process Engineer responsible for technical leadership across RNG projects, overseeing process design activities from concept through commissioning. Leads design drawings and calculations, serves as technical authority on anaerobic digestion, biogas upgrading, gas conditioning, and interconnect/virtual pipeline systems, and guides engineers and staff. Interfaces with internal stakeholders, regulators, consultants, and vendors; supports HAZOPs, design reviews, safety reviews, and startup/optimization of facilities; demonstrates strong leadership, mentoring, and commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (related field)
- Master’s degree preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
- 8–12 years of progressively responsible process engineering experience
- Experience in RNG, biogas, anaerobic digestion, or gas processing industries
- Ability to develop/review BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, and heat and material balances
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with engineering calculations, simulations, and process modeling tools (e.g., Pipe Phase, PRO II, Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus)
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to mentor junior engineers
- Experience leading design reviews and commissioning activities
- Experience interfacing with stakeholders, consultants, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies
- Industrial/field environment exposure
- Willingness to work in Central Valley, CA conditions
