Job Summary
Manage Manufacturing and Process Engineering projects for Cold Form & Finishing facilities, driving consistency of grinding operations across piston pin plants in Geneva, IL, Monterrey, MX, and Turin, IT. Develop grinding wheel standards, coolant formulas, and blade designs while building end-of-line inspection standards with automation opportunities. Support program launches for process capability and capacity, manage capital purchases from initiation through start-up, and provide continuous equipment assessments. Mentor site engineering teams to ensure process effectiveness and share best practices for meeting customer specifications. Travel domestically in Michigan and internationally to Mexico and Italy up to 25% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field (will accept single degree determined to be equivalent by a qualified evaluation service)
- At least 5 years of experience working in an automotive (OEM or supplier) environment
- 5 years of experience working with centerless grinding as a metal production process
- 5 years experience working with Statistical Process Control techniques
- 5 years experience working with analytical problem solving tools
- 2 years experience working with international manufacturing teams
- Domestic travel in Michigan and International travel to Mexico and Italy required up to 25% of the time
