Senior Process Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct engineering design reviews, analyze process flow diagrams, and interpret material balances for client projects. Lead project planning, execution, and monitoring while developing technical recommendations to enhance team effectiveness. Perform hands-on support for process safety activities, including HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and equipment sizing. Mentor junior engineers, track project hours, and deliver quality assurance on all project deliverables. Participate in client meetings and adapt to changing demands while maintaining high standards. This role requires a hybrid schedule (Tuesday through Thursday in the office) with approximately 30% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 6+ years of relevant professional experience
- US Citizenship
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System
- Ability to gain, retain, illustrate comprehension of learned technical knowledge, and transfer knowledge to other members of the team
- Ability to actively listen to the needs of our clients by receiving shared information, determining context and evaluating the information provided, and engaging and collaborating with the sales team on potential opportunities by providing solutions
- Openly accept change as part of business evolution to meet the needs of our clients, provides recommendations to enhance business, and drives change amongst colleagues and on assigned projects
- Possess a firm understanding of key performance indicators and their significance to the business and takes action to drive results amongst colleagues and on assigned projects
- Ability to utilize established rapport and role as subject matter expert with existing customers to identify and generate new business opportunities
- Ability to coach others on development and customer intimacy and new opportunities
- Must take responsibility for the actions, behaviors, decisions and results of themselves and the team they lead
- Ability to utilize root cause analysis to improve performance
- Must understand departmental goals and hold themselves and team members accountable for keeping commitments and high standards
- Must be dependable and consistent
- Ability to demonstrate independent, objective, open-minded thinking with strong attention to detail and sound judgment
- Must be an effective multi-tasker utilizing proficient time management skills
- This role will involve approximately 30% travel
Desired Qualifications
- Chemical engineering major
- Advanced degree
- Professional certification
- Experience in a plant environment and/or within a consulting services organization
- Professional or chartered engineer license
