Job Summary
Draft and negotiate Data Processing Agreements with customers, subprocessors, and third parties. Develop and scale global privacy programs by preparing Data Protection Impact Assessments and Records of Processing. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to evaluate regulatory impacts on new developments and monitor changes in privacy and AI laws. Support implementation of AI-specific regulations, including the CCPA governance framework, and assist in classifying AI systems and developing internal governance controls. Partner with legal, product, and compliance stakeholders on AI principles like transparency and human oversight.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer
- 8+ years of post-qualification experience in privacy and data protection
- Proven expertise in U.S. and E.U. data protection law
- familiarity across global compliance frameworks
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- confidence to represent Harvey on matters relating to data privacy, AI, and security
- Strong interpersonal skills
- ability to collaborate effectively across legal and business teams
- Highly responsive and detail-oriented
- ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution
