Senior/Principle Engineer - DC-DC Converter Power Electronics
On-siteNürnberg, Bavaria, Germany
Job Summary
Select and optimize power topologies for DC-DC converters based on specific requirements. Develop simulation models to estimate losses in highly-compact power supply modules and propose new concepts, patents, and control schemes for magnetic components. Design advanced control and modulation schemes, then produce insight reports on topologies, control, and magnetics. Conduct feasibility analysis of cutting-edge concepts and build cooperation with European industrial institutions and universities. Requires a Ph.D. in Power Electronics with post-graduate R&D experience, demonstrated technical portfolio including patents and publications, and expertise in compact low-voltage, high-frequency, high-efficiency power delivery solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Power Electronics (or related field)
- minimum of 2 years of post-graduate R&D experience
- M.Sc. with several years (10+) of advanced R&D experience in world-class corporate or research institutes within the low voltage power domain
- Demonstrated technical portfolio with granted patents, peer-reviewed publications (e.g., IEEE, APEC, PCIM), or widely-adopted open-source projects
- Proven R&D track record on compact low-voltage(<100V), high-frequency (MHz), high-efficiency (>95%), high-current (>100A), high power density power delivery solutions
- Deep expertise in multi-stage power supply design, encompassing advanced topologies, digital/analog control loops, integrated/planar magnetics, and advanced packaging techniques
