Job Summary
Senior Principal Storage and Data Protection System Administrator responsible for defining storage requirements, designing end-to-end storage solutions, ensuring reliability and performance in classified DoD environments, managing NAS storage, tape libraries, and backup applications (CommVault, Cohesity, Veritas, VEEAM), implementing security/compliance (DFARS, RMF, NIST), collaborating with storage architects, program leads, and cross-functional teams, with travel to other locations as dictated by customer-driven work requirements. Relocation support is available. Requires Linux (RHEL) and Windows for backups, and VMware/VCenter/vSphere/ESXi experience. Ability to obtain/interim security clearance and U.S. citizenship is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a related field
- U.S. citizenship required for security clearance
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued secret security clearance prior to starting
- Experience with NAS storage environments, tape library systems, Cohesity/Veritas/CommVault/VEEAM backup applications
- Experience with Linux (RHEL preferred) and Windows operating systems for backup installations
- Strong storage engineering skills and experience with data protection technologies
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, vCenter, vSphere, ESXi) and networking basics (TCP/IP)
- Ability to travel as required by customer-driven work requirements
- Relocation eligibility per company policy
