Job Summary
Senior Principal Storage and Data Protection System Administrator responsible for defining storage requirements and delivering end-to-end, secure storage solutions for classified programs. Collaborates with storage vendors, program leads, and end-users to design, implement, and maintain NAS storage, tape libraries, and backup environments (e.g., CommVault, Cohesity, Veritas). Performs system installations, network configurations, data migrations, disaster recovery planning, and 24x7 operations support. Ensures compliance with security and performance requirements (DFARS, RMF, NIST CSF) and provides documentation, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration. Role may require domestic travel; relocation support is available per policy; start date contingent on interim clearance. Requires DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a related field
- minimum of 8 years of relevant storage/data protection experience or 5 years with a Master's
- Experience with storage vendors (e.g., NAS, tape libraries)
- Experience with backup applications (CommVault, Cohesity, Veritas, VEEAM)
- Experience with Linux (RHEL preferred) and Windows for backups
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government secret security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
