Job Summary
Senior or Principal Sustainability Consultant to lead the UK building certification team, delivering BREEAM/WELL and related schemes, supporting decarbonisation targets, and guiding project design through certification processes. Responsibilities include leading certification projects and bids, providing technical guidance on certification schemes, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, delivering sustainability strategies, producing concise technical summaries and reports, mentoring junior consultants, and overseeing QA. Requires degree in engineering/architecture/building services or related discipline, 5+ years in sustainability consulting, Licensed BREEAM Assessor, and strong leadership, communication, and business-development capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in engineering, architecture, building services or related discipline
- Licensed BREEAM Assessor
- 5+ years’ experience in sustainability consulting within the built environment
- Proven experience delivering certification projects and leading or mentoring teams
- Strong grounding in environmental impact assessment and environmental science
- Demonstrable expertise in building certification schemes
- Commercial awareness related to business development, marketing, and proposal writing
- Experience preparing and leading tenders and proposals
- Excellent communication skills and proactive problem-solving abilities
