Job Summary
Senior Principal Software Engineer, AI Agents in Dublin, Ireland, focused on architecture, strategy, and hands-on development of AI agents for Toast's Team area within Fintech. You will drive architectural vision and product enablement for agent development, mentor technical leadership across teams, collaborate with product leaders to deliver Team Agent products from design to production, and advance agent patterns and ecosystem across Toast. The role blends leadership with active contribution in code and architecture, requiring deep expertise in scalable distributed systems, SaaS, and agentic development practices; experience with LLMs/ML models and enterprise integration is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years experience designing and building highly scalable distributed and fullstack software systems
- 10+ years experience building and operating SaaS products, ideally AWS hosted
- 1+ years experience using the latest in coding agents
- A strong desire to lean all in on agentic development practices
- Passion for building autonomous agents
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical architecture for a company or highly scalable line of products
- Ability to draw big lines and boxes on a whiteboard and understand code behavior under load
- Ability to communicate and influence at the executive level
