Job Summary
Senior/Principal Scientist leading immunology and pharmacology programs at PharmaEssentia Innovation Research Center (PIRC). Responsibilities include designing and executing in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo pharmacology studies to support target validation and advancement of early-stage therapeutics; collaborating with internal and external partners; generating high-quality datasets; applying mechanistic immunology/oncology knowledge to interpret results; providing scientific leadership, mentoring junior scientists, and contributing to IND-enabling program progression; cross-functional collaboration across biologics discovery, translational science, bioinformatics/data science, and external CROs; and communicating findings to internal and external stakeholders. Required qualifications include a PhD in a related discipline, 6+ years of industry experience, hands-on immune assays and translational workflows, flow cytometry (FACS), ELISA/MSD, experience with engineered cytokines/ADCs/bispecifics, and familiarity with AI-enabled approaches. The role is based in Bedford, MA with a focus on discovery-to-preclinical translational science and strategic pipeline contributions.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Oncology, Pharmacology, or a related discipline
- Strong scientific background with hands-on experience in immunology and/or oncology drug discovery
- Experience supporting discovery and preclinical-stage therapeutic programs
- Approximately 6+ years of relevant industry experience
- Hands-on experience with human primary immune cell assays and translational pharmacology workflows
- Proficiency in multi-color flow cytometry (FACS), ELISA, MSD, and related immunological assay platforms
- Experience with engineered cytokines, bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and/or other novel therapeutic modalities preferred
- Familiarity with AI-enabled or computational approaches supporting drug discovery is highly desirable
