Senior Principal RF Design Engineer

Job Summary

Develop architecture, requirements, and hardware designs for next-generation radar receiver, exciter, and transmitter products. Conduct hands-on testing of components, circuit card assemblies, and subsystems while optimizing RF circuits and performing schematic capture and routing. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage technical support during production transitions, oversee cost and schedule management, and lead proposal writing. This 1st shift, 100% on-site position requires an active Secret clearance and is based in Tewksbury or Marlborough, MA.

Required Qualifications

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 10 years' of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with Microwave/RF system, subsystem and/or component analysis, design and/or test
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, CST, and/or Mentor Graphics' Xpedition)
  • Experience with analytical tools (e.g., MATLAB)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance
  • 100% on-site & based in either Tewksbury, MA or Marlborough, MA
  • Travel between multiple MA sites anticipated

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in design, from concept through production
  • Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications
  • Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, which includes yield and margin analysis
  • Problem-solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges
  • Experience in technical writing and oral presentations
  • Technical background in any of the following areas: Cascade analysis and/or frequency planning
  • Filter design and fabrication
  • Circuit card assembly and fabrication
  • High speed data converter test / characterization
  • Low Noise RF source design and test experience
  • Active / Existing Secret U.S. Security Clearance
