Job Summary
Senior Principal R&D Engineer – Device Physicist responsible for translating circuit requirements into device and technology specifications, benchmarking Foundry technologies on technical figures of merit and cost, and translating design needs into requests for Front-End Foundries (device modelling, PDK setup, Foundation IP, Wafer Level Reliability, and reliability analyses). Leads NPI activities within the Front-End New Product Introduction team, performs root-cause analyses of yield loss related to device/technology weaknesses, analyzes reliability failure mechanisms, and collaborates across multidisciplinary R&D teams. Must have a master’s degree in physics or electrical engineering and 10 years of semiconductor R&D experience; required technical skills include CMOS/HV BCD device architecture, PDK tools, Medici/Supre/Sentaurus TCAD, Cadence or Synopsys schematic design, and Python; strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration are essential. Hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home; permanent contract with competitive salary and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in physics or electrical engineering
- 10 years of work experience in semiconductor R&D focused on Automotive grade ICs
- Expert on device architecture of active and passive components in CMOS and HV BCD technologies
- Medium level knowledge on process technology, circuit design, ESD, wafer-level reliability degradation mechanisms, product reliability, PDK tools, PDK pcell creation
- TCAD device simulation experience (Medici, Sentaurus)
- Basic schematic design experience in Cadence or Synopsys
- Python programming experience
