Job Summary
Senior Principal Materials & Processes Engineer to lead root-cause analysis of material failures and develop processing specifications for metallics, sealants, and coatings for critical structural aerospace components. Responsible for generating test plans and reports, applying chemistry/physics to materials behavior, and developing design/processing specifications for metallic and non-metallic fabrication and assembly. Requires experience in material failure analysis, processing of metals/composites, and knowledge of coatings; must be able to travel (10%) and obtain/maintain U.S. government Secret clearance. Relocation assistance may be available and U.S. citizenship is required for government-clearance positions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field OR Master’s degree OR Ph.D. in STEM with related experience
- U.S. Citizenship for government-clearance positions
- Ability to obtain/maintain final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance
- 8 years (Bachelor) / 6 years (Master) / 4 years (PhD) of related professional/military experience
- Experience with metallics, sealants and/or coatings; experience in metal or composite fabrication and/or design
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and develop processing specifications
- Travel: 10% of the time
- Relocation assistance may be available
- Clearance required: Secret
