Senior Principal Highway Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct roadway/highway analysis, design, specifications, reports, and estimates for conventional and design-build projects serving GDOT, county, and municipal clients. Monitor labor budgets and schedules for assigned tasks, coordinate with discipline key task leaders to ensure ongoing communications, and meet project deliverable schedules and budgets. Support marketing and business development initiatives while reviewing others' work for technical accuracy and addressing challenging issues in a professional manner. Requires 20 years of relevant experience, Georgia PE licensure, and proficiency in construction document production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience
- Georgia PE licensure
- Proven experience leading and/or providing technical guidance to entry/junior-level staff
- Proven experience reviewing others' work for technical accuracy
- Proven experience participating in the design and implementation of new services, processes, standards, and/or operational plans that had great impact on the achievement of functional results
- Proficient in construction document production
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders
- Proven ability to successfully address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound professional and business-like manner
Desired Qualifications

- Experience working on General Engineering Consultant and/or Design-Build contracts
