Job Summary
Senior/Principal Enterprise Architect (Security) at Workday is a remote-first, travel-up-to-40-50% role focused on leading strategy and technical discussions around secure SaaS architecture, cybersecurity controls, data protection, HIPAA/PHI, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance. The role requires translating complex requirements into secure, scalable technology solutions for healthcare, higher education, and state/local government, delivering technical product presentations and executive briefings, guiding sales and deal teams on security differentiation, mentoring colleagues, and collaborating across functions to design trusted customer experiences. The position emphasizes cloud security, identity and access management, encryption, zero-trust, governance and risk, and integration patterns, with a primary emphasis on enterprise platforms, risk management, and regulatory compliance in regulated industries. The role is primarily remote with travel up to 40-50% and involves influencing executive stakeholders (CIOs, CISOs) and customers across healthcare, higher education, and public sector.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years Enterprise Software Solution Consulting experience OR hands-on experience designing, implementing, or supporting enterprise software solutions (SaaS preferred) for Senior Enterprise Architect
- 5+ years’ experience delivering compelling presentations and demos to executive and technical audiences, both in person and in virtual meetings, clearly communicating technical concepts, security considerations, and strategic initiatives
- 5+ years applied working knowledge of cloud architecture and security (e.g., identity and access management, encryption, network security, logging/monitoring), reporting/analytics, and integration standards (APIs, web services, event-driven architectures)
- Experience working with customers in regulated environments such as healthcare (including HIPAA and PHI), higher education, and/or state and local government, with the ability to speak credibly about risk, compliance, security, architecture, and governance
- 7+ years Enterprise Software Solution Consulting experience OR hands-on experience designing, implementing, or supporting enterprise software solutions (SaaS preferred) for Principal Enterprise Architect
- 7+ years’ experience delivering compelling presentations and demos to executive and technical audiences, both in person and in virtual meetings, clearly communicating technical concepts, security considerations, and strategic initiatives
- 7+ years applied working knowledge of cloud architecture and security (e.g., identity and access management, encryption, network security, logging/monitoring), reporting/analytics, and integration standards (APIs, web services, event-driven architectures)
- Experience working with customers in regulated environments such as healthcare (including HIPAA and PHI), higher education, and/or state and local government, with the ability to speak credibly about risk, compliance, security, architecture, and governance
- Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, AAISM are a bonus
