Job Summary
Design and model Mechanical Ground Support Equipment in 3D CAD software, establishing requirements and performing first-order structural analysis for isotropic materials. Draft technical drawings using Y14.5 GD&T, resolve fabrication deviations, and develop proof load diagrams to support vendor acceptance testing and integration operations. Lead design reviews, define conceptual designs, and create technical work instructions for hardware used in clean room environments. Work independently to drive alignment across program functions while prioritizing first-time quality and meeting ambitious deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required at time of application
- Previously held an active SCI clearance within the last 12 months
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelors of Science Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline plus 9 years of experience
- Masters of Science Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 7 years of experience
- Experience in working on multi-disciplinary teams, preferably within Integration, Test, and Launch (IT&L) or Manufacturing environment
- ASME Y14.5 experience
- First order structural analysis experience
- Preliminary and critical design review (PDR and CDR) development experience
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
- Intermediate understanding of GD&T in accordance with (IAW) ASME Y14.5
- Intermediate knowledge of bolted joints and welding of aluminum and steel structures IAW AWS Standards
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to travel 10% of the time
- Must be able to work in a clean room environment
- Must be able to perform in-person at the Redondo Beach, CA campus
- Must be able to work a 9/80 schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Active Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance
- Experience with design of MGSE
- Experience with manufacturing or integration of P093 program hardware
- Intermediate understanding of Finite Element Analysis
- Experience developing support equipment to be used at the Eastern or Western Range
- Experience developing support equipment for use in Thermal Vacuum
- Experience developing over the road or over the air satellite transportation equipment
- Design for manufacturing (DFM) experience
- Experience developing support equipment for use in Thermal Vacuum
- Experience developing over the road or over the air satellite transportation equipment
