Job Summary
Senior Principal Engineer in Energy Management System Infrastructure (EMS/EMSD) responsible for round-the-clock operational support of the Energy Management System and the Cyber Security Operations Centre to monitor and protect power generation, transmission, and CIIs. Role includes first-level technical support to ensure high availability of EMS, OT/IT network and security infrastructure, and involvement in design enhancements for integrating renewables, energy storage, and imports; real-time power system studies (contingency analysis, transmission network analysis, short circuit analysis), automatic generation control, load and PV forecasts, telemetry, State Estimator, and Dispatcher Training Simulator. Also coordinates with Licenseses to connect new facilities and update EMS databases with field equipment; conducts cyber security monitoring, triage, and incident resolution; drives cybersecurity risk assessments and implementation of mitigation measures to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., Cybersecurity Act, CCoP); maintains supporting infrastructure (UPS, fire protection, access systems) to ensure reliable EMS operation; requires knowledge in OT cybersecurity, power system engineering, and public service context, with programming and Linux/Unix/Windows proficiency and ISO 27001, risk assessment, and security practices. Required Qualifications
- Keen interest in OT cybersecurity, power system engineering and serving in public service
- Competency in computer programming
- Technical hardware architecture
- Linux/Unix/Windows operating systems
- Familiar with networking commands and understanding of basic networking protocols and security concepts
- Good understanding of information security practices related to ISO 27001, risk assessment, application and network security
- Good understanding of Power System Engineering, Control Centers Operations, electricity substation/gas facility environments and devices (would be an added advantage)
- Ability to provide first-level technical support for Energy Management System and Cyber Security Operations Center
