Job Summary
Senior Principal Architect to lead the design and modernization of JPMorganChase's payments platform. Design scalable, cloud-native Java-based applications, create target state architectures for distributed systems, and guide technical decisions. Responsible for budgeting, hiring, mentoring, setting team priorities, and fostering a client-centric environment. Core responsibilities include designing and developing scalable Java applications, defining architectural blueprints, establishing coding standards, mentoring junior developers, evaluating technologies, performing code reviews, and troubleshooting complex production issues. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering and 10+ years of Java experience with Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree and payments-domain experience, plus cloud certifications and open-source contributions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of Java development experience
- Strong hands-on coding skills in Java
- Experience with Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes
- Expert-level knowledge of microservices architecture, API design
- Proficiency with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization
- Strong collaboration skills and problem-solving abilities
