Job Summary
Senior Principal/Architect Software role focusing on module firmware integration, validation, and cellular certification for wireless products. Responsibilities include embedded Linux application development and validation, building Python automation pipelines, configuring network emulators to recreate 4G/5G environments, image management for engineering prototypes and routing units, advanced log diagnostics for issue isolation, RF lab characterization, global coordination with third-party labs and certification bodies, and preparing technical documentation for FCC/ISED and regional bodies. The role also entails leading carrier acceptance and certification testing programs, coordinating with test houses, and ensuring timely delivery of test reports. Requires deep expertise in embedded Linux, Python scripting, 4G/5G stacks, networking fundamentals, RF equipment, and familiarity with industry standards and regulatory filings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
- 10+ years of direct, hands-on experience in wireless device certification, RF/cellular testing, or telecom test automation
- Proven embedded Linux development and debugging experience
- Strong proficiency in Python and Bash for hardware/simulator API interaction and test automation
- Solid understanding of 4G LTE and 5G NR (Standalone/Non-Standalone) software stacks and 3GPP protocol layers
- Robust knowledge of core routing protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPNs, VLANs) and memory management
- Experience with diagnostic and RF equipment (Wireshark, QXDM, QPST) and RF lab equipment
- Familiarity with industry standards (3GPP) and carrier test plans
- Experience coordinating with test labs and certification bodies
- Ability to compile technical documentation and ensure DoC/TCF compliance
- Cross-functional collaboration and strong communication skills
- Proficiency in Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean is advantageous
- Compliance frameworks familiarity (FCC/ISED, CE, JPN, KC, TW, ANZ)
- Ability to manage device inventory, firmware, and lab coordination
- Experience with automated test scripts and image loading
- Experience with network emulation tools (Keysight UXM, Rohde & Schwarz CMX/CMW, Amarisoft)
- Experience with carrier acceptance testing (CAT) with major North American and Asian operators
