Senior Primary Engineer

Job Summary
Provide technical support for Customer and Company initiated projects across AusNet's Transmission network and develop concept scopes and specifications for design and construction. Review brownfield substation designs to ensure constructability, operability, and safety while applying primary engineering knowledge to complex design projects. Support estimation, schedule development, and risk registers, and provide engineering input into commercial offers. Lead, coach, and mentor personnel within the team to share knowledge and experience. Identify opportunities to develop improved standards for efficient solution delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Detailed technical knowledge and extensive experience in electricity networks engineering
- Detailed understanding of project lifecycles and application of engineering principals with extensive design and construction knowledge covering, performance, functionality, operation, maintenance and risks
- Extensive experience working in electricity substations engineering, project delivery and/or design role
- Strong understanding of regulatory environment that AusNet operates within
- Proven project team leadership skills
- Proven capability in development of concepts and/or delivery of designs
- Proven ability to build and grow relationships and partnerships across divisions within Ausnet as well as with external suppliers, customers and regulatory bodies
Desired Qualifications
- Simplify complex engineering analysis for non-engineers (summarising key decision-making during delivery of detailed design)
- Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, mentor, empower and support colleagues and team members to achieve common goals
