Job Summary
Senior Pricing Analyst at a global law firm responsible for pricing governance including billing-rate and alternative fee arrangement administration, profitability analyses on legal matters, and support for client pitches. Responsibilities include evaluating local market trends, modeling matter profitability, designing budgeting templates, delivering pricing analytics to firm management and attorneys, and creating reports to showcase pricing trends. Requires strong Excel expertise (formulas, data manipulation; Power Query/VBA a plus) and experience with pricing systems or BI tools. Hybrid role with 1–2 days in the office and multiple U.S. office locations (Los Angeles, Houston, Washington, NYC, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Dallas, Denver, Irvine).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- At least 3 years of financial, procurement and/or pricing experience
- Strong understanding of legal pricing and profitability drivers
- Experience with financial management systems (e.g., Elite 3E, Aderant) or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is preferred
- Proficient in Excel (formulas, macros, pivots; Power Query and/or VBA a plus)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Experience evaluating market trends and developing pricing proposals for client pitches
