Job Summary
Develop scalable data solutions and analytical frameworks to support pricing strategy, while identifying innovative techniques for risk segmentation and predictive performance. Own the development, monitoring, and enhancement of predictive pricing models using Python and SQL within cloud environments, ensuring stability and business value. Champion coding best practices and analytical governance through collaboration with stakeholders across teams. Contribute to the assessment of new data sources and maintain expertise in emerging industry trends to drive continuous improvement. Work predominantly from home with one office day per month, supporting the Telematics Pricing team's evolution.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2:1 degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative discipline
- Proven experience in a pricing role within the motor insurance industry, with exposure to telematics insurance
- Hands-on experience working with telematics or other high velocity, high-volume sensor-based datasets using Python and SQL within cloud-based analytics environments
- Experience in a relevant pricing role within the motor insurance industry, in telematics insurance
- Hands-on experience working with telematics or other high-velocity and high-volume sensor-based data using Python and SQL on cloud-based analytics platforms
- Understanding of insurance pricing and products
- Understanding of data science concepts and tools
- Strong technical skills, supported by an undergraduate or graduate degree in a numerical discipline
- Hands-on experience in Python and SQL
- Hands-on experience in statistical modelling using GBMs/GLMs
- Experience in project management
- Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to produce high-level and low-level analysis
- Ability to influence and educate stakeholders through verbal and written communication
- Ability to own a piece of work and work on own initiative
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing and deploying predictive models using Python and established data science methodologies would be advantageous
- Experience with Radar is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience building and deploying predictive models using Python packages and data science principles is advantageous
- Radar experience is preferred
