Job Summary
Senior Pricing Actuary responsible for supporting senior actuaries across pricing and reserving projects, identifying profitable growth opportunities and underperforming segments for action. Key duties include performing regular rate indications for all states and programs, recommending rate actions to improve profitability within regulatory constraints, researching peer filings to develop adequate and supportable rates, preparing rate filing analyses and exhibits aligned with state requirements, addressing DOI objections, coordinating with compliance on submissions, and supporting reserve reviews and data requests. Collaborates with CAT modeling and reinsurance teams, communicates findings and recommendations to stakeholders, and supports external MGA partners and regulators. Requires strong Excel competence, SQL and/or Python, and an analytic, proactive, self-motivated mindset with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- At least 6+ years of experience
- At least 5+ years of actuarial exams completed, pursuing CAS designation; CPCU, ARe, etc. a plus
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Knowledge of SQL, Python or other programming languages
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present findings to senior management, underwriting, compliance, external MGA partners, and regulators
- Familiarity with MGA business a plus
