Job Summary
Senior Premium Analyst responsible for evaluating submitted vendor audits (physical and phone), deciding which require further analysis, approving and processing mail audits, and reviewing audits for findings. Provides direct customer service to internal and external customers via phone, fax, and email. Key duties include identifying solutions across multi-functional areas, directing Premium Analyst I/II and Audit Technicians, managing audit adjustments (waive, mail, phone, physical), contacting insureds or agents to gather information, applying classifications using PAAS/NCCI/web tools, communicating policy changes to internal staff, managing PAM workflow, and mentoring junior staff. Requires strong knowledge of vendor audit processes, state rules, payroll reporting, and strong written/spoken communication, organizational and time-management skills, and ability to work with minimum supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Insurance, Finance, or related field (or combinations of education and experience)
- Experience: One year as Premium Analyst II with demonstrated technical decision making and audit processing skills; four years technical or administrative office experience including relevant audit or payroll duties, or three years demonstrated experience with necessary skills
- Alternate Education Path: Bachelor 0s degree in Accounting, Business, Insurance, Finance, or related field with progress towards or completion of Insurance Institute of America (IIA) or other insurance-related designation(s) and one year as Premium Analyst II
- Skills: Understanding of vendor audit formats and processes; knowledge of underwriting rules, state manual rules and Workers’ Compensation classifications; excellent oral and written communication; organizational and prioritization abilities; basic computer, word processing, and spreadsheet skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities; attention to detail; payroll knowledge; proactive thinking; cross-functional collaboration
